Going into the New Year, we at Foster Coalition want to look back at 2025 and share what we are grateful for, and what we hope for the new year…

First of all, we are so thankful for all the support from our donors, grantors, volunteers, and fellow advocates. We could not achieve our mission without you. Every ounce of your generosity goes towards improving the lives of foster children. 

Secondly, we are so grateful to each of our resource partners and organizations that have helped us with all our events. Each of our events – whether to train, recruit families, or raise funds to expand the work – were successful thanks to your huge help to get them up and running. Thank you to those organizations, such as Lifeline Children’s Services, Children’s of Alabama Chip’s Center, Grace Klein Community, and many more! 

We have also been blessed to be able to develop community gatherings, such as our Foster Ministry Fellowships, Brainstorming sessions, and event kick-off parties, where we collaborate to make waves in the foster care community. We are so grateful for those who participate. 

We have also had great opportunities to be featured on talk shows and podcasts throughout the year, including Talk of Alabama, TMG’s “Hand in Hand”, Adoption and Foster Care Clinic, and more. We celebrate every moment we get to share our mission and vision with you. We only hope it sparks a light for you to want to join us in helping improve the lives of foster families. 

Lastly, we would love to mention our own podcast! With the early development stages at the end of 2024 and into the beginning 2025, we are blessed to have been able to get our podcast, Safe Home Alabama, active this year! We aim to uplift the voices in the foster care system as we discuss different realities of foster, adoptive, kinship, mental health, and abused children, women, and men. We invite you to join us as a guest on the podcast to share your story if you have any experience with any of these topics, or you provide resources for those who do. We hope to reach large audiences and spark feelings of hope, relatability, and relief in knowing you are not alone. You have resources and people out there to help you, and groups like Foster Coalition are working in your favor to help make improvements in our community. 

Going into 2026, we hope to grow our support so that we can continue working towards improving the lives of foster children. Foster Coalition has a lot of things already in the books to get us more involved in the community. From trauma-informed training events, impact groups, podcasts, to fundraisers, we are excited to make more waves of improvement in the foster care community. So if you see us, come say hello!
